World renowned Obstetrician Michel Odent, MD known for introducing the concepts of home-like birthing rooms and birthing pools in maternity hospitals in the 1970s, presenting: “Physiologic perspective versus cultural conditioning: two ways to understand the birth process.” Same day CEUs for professionals!
His appearance in Ricki Lake’s documentary “The Business of Being Born,” Barbara Harper’s (founder of water birth international) “Gentle Birth Choices,” the author of five academic books, author of 12 books translated in 22 languages, author of the first article in medical literature about the initiation of lactation during the hour following birth (1997), the first article about birthing pools (Lancet 1983) and nearly one hundred scientific articles, he is famous in birth communities around the world. Michel Odent, MD, has been in charge of the surgical and the maternity unit at the Pithiviers (France) state hospital (1962 – 1985) and the founder of Primal Health Research Center (London).
